West Lutheran High School
Plymouth, Minnesota
Secondary Education Complex
Architect: Wayne Jeske & Associates
The Challenge: After operating in rented facilities for many years, West Lutheran's board of directors decided to build a facility tailored to meet its special requirements. With original estimates far exceeding the school's budget, the project demanded a creative approach to design and construction.
The Olson Solution: Olson General Contractors studied many alternative
approaches in terms of material selection, site selection, grading plans and
construction methods until they found the right combination for producing a cost-effective
building. The staff also assisted the school in negotiating a cooperative arrangement
with the city of Plymouth, resulting in the construction of athletic fields for
use on a shared basis. Olson's involvement in the project resulted in a finished
facility that exceeded their original requirements and was delivered ahead of
schedule and under budget.
